Time for a small newsletter to hopefully inspire you with new fabrics and several of our favourite products now back in stock. Thank you all for your amazing support during the last couple of months! We sold out of quite a few of our most popular items, and with worldwide freight so slow at the moment, it took what felt like an eternity for new stock to arrive to us. “Patience” was required that’s for sure!
Di Ford-Hall
As many of you may have heard, Di Ford-Hall lost her incredibly brave battle with Leukaemia on April 17th. This news has of course broken our hearts and is still at times impossible to believe. Di has left us all with so many wonderful quilt designs, fabrics, patterns, inspiration and her amazing knowledge and skills which she always so generously shared. Her legacy will live on for many, many years to come as her quilts continue to be made and her beautiful fabrics used. Rest in peace beautiful Di.
Di’s new fabric range “Anne’s English Scrapbox” was initially scheduled for delivery in May, but delivery has been delayed due to the current state of the world, and at this stage is expected to arrive to us in late June or July. It is a beautiful range, and definitely one to look out for. We will let you all know as soon as it arrives.
Shop Hours and when to re-open.........
As our shop is located at the back part of our house, we are being extra cautious with re-opening our shop for classes and walk-in customers. But we will get there! Just biding our time for a couple more weeks to gauge what effect the current easing of restrictions has on the community. We have temporarily adjusted our hours for you to contact us, just until we re-open to: Monday thru Friday 10am – 4pm. Closed for phone calls etc on Saturdays and Sundays. Until we re-open, we are just a phone call or mail order away. We have contactless pick up available too, so just let us know how we can help! Our edge-to-edge quiltingservice is still available. Just give us a call or email if you would like to book in a quilt or two………….or three…………some of you have been very productive during lockdown!!
Megumi Mizuno has been a student of Yoko Saito for more than 20 years. She loves appliqué and the traditional Japanese universe, which she interprets with the famous little Japanese dolls, the Kokeshi and the Daruma. Megumi showcases them here with small projects and one spectacular quilt.
Dawn Heese, pays tribute to her favorite techniques and quilts: the red and green quilts of the mid-19th century, Folk Art and appliqué.
