EXCITING TIMES!! Re-opening update and other important info.
We are super excited and delighted to announce that we reopen to walk-in customers onWednesday 4th November at 10am. Yay!! Our normal opening hours will then resume, being Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 4pm. Initially we will be offering a few different options with the with the aim of making everyone feel safe and comfortable visiting our shop.
What’s changed when you arrive:
Our shop has been reconfigured, with our big room now our main shopping area. Our smaller room now has our teaching tables along with a small amount of stock, and initially we will also be using this room more as a ‘consulting room’. Perfect for booking in your quilt for long-arm quilting, or if you need help choosing fabrics for a project etc. Appointments are welcome for these services! All requirements will be in place for us to meet Covid safe requirements, and we respectfully ask the following:
Please register your first name and your phone number with us at each visit to assist with contact tracing requirements
Masks are worn at all times
Anyone with any Covid type symptoms at all does not visit our shop
Hand sanitiser will be readily available and we encourage you to use this
Super Spring Specials to Celebrate!
We have been very busy Spring Cleaning and have some fabulous bargains for you to check out. Weather permitting, a selection of these will be outside to greet you as you arrive, with the choices constantly changing! All only available while stocks last of course!! These include:
Selected FAT QUARTERS – 6 for $20
“LAST CHANCE” fabric packs – offered as 3 mt packs for $19.50 or 1 mt packs $7.50
Some other shopping options for you:
We fully respect and understand that not everyone will be comfortable re-entering even a small retail environment straight away, for a whole range of reasons. Here are a couple of options for you that may help:
Book ahead: You are welcome to book a time to visit us, and we can help with your shopping from our smaller room. Just ring us and make a time if you would like to do this.
Contactless pick up: We are still here for contactless pick-up. Simply phone your order through or place your order online and select the ‘pick up’ option. Then liaise with us re a collection time.
Long Arm Quilting:
While we have always welcomed quilts to be brought in at any time, we would recommend at this stage for you to ring ahead and BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TIME. This will minimise waiting times for you.
Our normal group classes are not able to resume just yet, but we will have further announcements on this as soon as possible.
However, we also know that there may be many of our students who need some help with projects they have been working on during lockdown. Carol will therefore be offering small tuition classes for the month of November. Attendance numbers will be strictly limited in line with social distancing requirements, and only available at specific times.
Duration : 1 hour individual classes will be $30 per booking
Two or three people for 1-1/2 hours, if you would like to organise with others from your regular class. Cost for these classes will be our normal ‘general class’ fees, or $25 per person. Please check with us when booking if you have classes available on your class card. Bookings are essential.
At this stage, we are sadly resolved to the fact that Summer School in its usual format will not be possible for January 2021. Normally by now we would have classes all organised, teachers lined up and bookings open. But the current situation here in Melbourne as we slowly emerge from lockdown has far too many unknowns and variables for us to arrange such a big event so far ahead that involve so many people. However, closer to January if Covid remains settled and we feel comfortable with how things are in Melbourne, we may be able to look at the possibility of offering some classes on a smaller scale. Everything is just a ‘wait and see’ scenario for now.
