March 2019

Busy and exciting times are being planned here at Sewn and Quilted for all of 2019! There’s lots in the pipeline with the start of Show Season looming, and Winter Workshops starting to take shape.

Our focus here this month is all about the preparation we need to do for our first big show for the year - the Australasian Quilt Convention (AQC) in April. We are busily planning our stand that will have not just our tried and tested products on it, but new products and quilts on it to tempt you! See below for details.

And as always, this newsletter is packed full of interesting patterns, fabrics, books, classes and “essentials” for you to peruse.

Products

Cushioned Quilter’s Square ‘n Blocker
Designed by June Taylor, this convenient 18" x 24"sized block has a pressing surface on one side with a printed 14 x 24 grid. It has a thick, bonded cushioned layer to eliminate seam-edge impressions and protects the raised detail of applique and has a carrying handle for portability.

Stash ‘n Store
The ultimate storage system to keep all your quilting needs in one spot ready for use. Comes in mint, aqua, navy, red, ruby and pink.

Roxanne’s Glue Baste-it
This “Dip and Dab” is just perfect for applique; the tiny applicator makes it easy to “dip” into the bottle and “dab” the sponge tip in just the right place. And the bottle is easily refillable too.

Craft Case
This very hand craft case opens to reveal lots of pockets and holders to have all your sewing needs in one place. We’ve seen lots of these covered in a variety of fabric pieces/patterms or felted wool/embroidered designs, although with the cute white on red spots of this one, you may just want to use it as is!

Magnetic Invisible Quilt Hangers
Contains five 1" x 2" magnets with steel brackets. 2" x 1" wall plates. No tools needed! Use removable adhesive strips to attach magnetic brackets to the wall. Holds quilts from mini-to king-sized securely with extremely strong rare-earth magnets. Quilts are easy to level, with no damage to wall or quilt.

Fray Stopper Brush Pen
Simply wipe the brush over the area to stop fabric or ribbon from fraying.

Iron On Transfer Pen
The Sulky Iron-On Transfer Pen makes permanent, non-bleeding transfer suitable for fabric painting, art, applique, embroidery, labels, quilts and clothing, tole painting, needlework and punchneedle embroidery. Works best with light or pastel coloured poly-cotton blends. Easily transfer designs onto fabric, canvas, wood, stabilizers, or just about any surface where a hot iron can be used. Make a permanent, non-bleeding transfer. Just trace, draw and then iron. Ink glides on like a marker. Transfer 3-5 times with one application.

Bohin Seam Ripper
This seam ripper folds in half so you can easily hide the sharp point when not in use. Great for removing all stitches and seams easily and cleanly
