Beginners Introductory Short Courses
A non-refundable deposit of $60 is required when booking to hold your place in a class, then full payment of remaining class payment is due a week before the class commences.
Telephone bookings may be made but please note phone bookings are held for 1 week only. Your deposit must reach Sewn and Quilted within that time to secure your place in the class. Deposits may be paid over the phone by credit card, a cheque posted in the mail, or in person by credit card, cheque or cash.
General Patchwork Classes
Classes may be purchased in blocks of 5 or 10 weeks, or paid for on a casual basis per class. All efforts will be made to accommodate students in the class/es of their choice, however there may be times when this is not possible due to restrictions on class numbers. Please check availability in a class prior to attending, and bookings are essential.
Blocks of classes purchased are non-refundable, and do not expire for 12 months.
Please note, if you wish to keep your 'permanent' spot in one of our classes we ask that in fairness to both ourselves and other students that you attend on a regular basis, and you must let us know if you are unable to attend one of your regular sessions due to illness, holidays etc. Failure to advise us with reasonable notice (at LEAST 48 hours prior/2 full business days) of not being able to attend a class that you are booked in for, be it a regular class or a casual class, will result in payment for that class being forfeited. "Reasonable Notice" is required so that it gives us adequate time to try to fill your spot with someone else in the class for that particular session. Please understand that it can take us many phone calls to try to find someone, and often we are unable to fill your spot on short notice.
The timeframes for notification are:
- by 10am Friday for the following Tuesday,
- by 10am Saturday for the following Wednesday,
- by 10am Wednesday for the following Friday.
** For Specialist Teacher classes and Targeted Technique classes a full week's notice is required. Thank you for your understanding.
Materials are not included in the quoted cost of classes unless otherwise stated. If materials are required for the class, please try to allow time for these to be purchased prior to the start of the class.
Students need to bring along all of their own equipment (rotary cutters, scissors, needles, pins etc), or may purchase these items from the studio if required. We have a supply of cutting mats and rulers here for the convenience of students to use. We also have sewing machines available for hire to use during class times - cost is $2 per session.
