While there is a lot of unsettled parts to our lives and world at the moment, aren’t we all lucky to be able to say “thank goodness for sewing”!!
Thank you to everyone for their wonderful support of our shop, with your mail orders and phone orders. You have certainly kept me busy! My days are spent filling orders, running to the Post Office, or talking to some of our lovely customers on the phone when they ring. Oh, and long arm quilting in my ‘spare’ time of course! And yes, you can still book your quilt in for quilting – can you imagine how many quilts are going to be completed during all of this ‘stay at home’ time!
While the walk-in aspect of our shop is currently closed, we have set up a contactless drop off and pick up option for you if you live close by. Otherwise we can easily post your orders to you of course.
Many people have been ringing and asking for some new project ideas, and now’s the perfect time to be able to really get stuck into a new project. Have a look at these, and let us know if you’d like to order any of them. There are limited quantities of some of them so if you’re interested, let us know as soon as you can.
BOMs
The Secret Garden This stunning quilt features a striking center mandala surrounded by a garden of folk fantasy, and overflowing with secret, hidden delights! Made with artisan dyed wool applique and woven textured fabrics, also available in month 1 is an optional thread pack containing 13 Valdani threads and 1 Holoshimmer Thread.
Getting to Know Hue - Make a showstopper in a vibrant rainbow of colors. Each month, for 12 months, you’ll receive piecing and applique directions by Nancy Rink, and quilting fabrics from her Getting to Know Hue collection for a section of the quilt top, including precut fusible-backed applique shapes. This quilt can be done as a Block of the Month or we can issue more parts per month.
Posies Puzzles - It's always fun and interesting to see how the exact same pieces, can produce blocks that appear totally different. Cut out the same block component twice and then arrange them in different ways to create two blocks. Once the entire quilt is assembled, the puzzle becomes finding the pairs of blocks that are actually the same. This is a wonderful quilt to expand your repertoire of quilt blocks and increase your skill levels as you go. Can be done as a block of the month or more parts per month can be issued.
Kits
Crystal Star - This gorgeous quilt was featured on the front cover of Quiltmania #129 (January 2019) and is made using fabrics from Edyta Sitar's range "Crystal Farm". The kit contains fabrics required to make the quilt top, precut silhouettes for the applique and the pattern.
Arabesque - from Granny's Legacy patterns this kit contains the pattern, woolens, backing and beads to complete a stunning 29" round mat. The paisley motif is worked 4 times around the edge to complete the design.
Tulip Row - also from Granny's Legacy Patterns this kit contains the pattern, linen background, artisan dyed woolens and grey hounds tooth wool for backing. May be finished as a pillow or framed. Also available as pattern only
