House of Embroidery is a proudly South African Fair Trade company that has been in operation since 1995. Over the years, they have grown from a small, home based dye works to a 10 member team with a factory where they meticulously hand dye 100% Cotton threads and other ethically sourced fibers in small batches. HOB provides employment to previously disadvantaged South Africans, particularly single mothers who are the sole breadwinners in their families, and the majority of the HOB team has been with the company since its inception. They also support community outreach programs in South Africa such as the Imbali Visual Literacy Project and the Boitumelo Sewing Project, by assisting with tuition and supplies for their various projects. This is a proud moment for Sue Spargo, with Africa deeply rooted in her soul. Having grown up in Africa, and it being a source of inspiration that drives many of Sue's designs, she is honored to partner with HOB
